Alabamians for Legal Reform is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization devoted to reforming and improving the unbalanced legal climate in Alabama through research and advocacy.
ALR’s mission is to study and educate the public about legal reform issues impacting Alabama’s economy and growth opportunities. To further this mission, ALR researches, identifies, and advocates for legal reform measures to improve Alabama’s legal climate and increase commerce and capital investment in Alabama.

Harrison serves as Executive Director for Alabamians for Legal Reform. He was Counsel of Government Affairs at Protective Life Insurance in Birmingham, where he helped lead advocacy efforts, legislative analysis, and stakeholder engagement on state and national issues impacting the life insurance industry. Prior to his return to Alabama, he managed Protective’s Washington, D.C. office, focusing on federal policy areas such as tax reform, retirement security, risk classification, and fiduciary standards. Before joining Protective, Harrison was an Associate at Patomak Global Partners, advising financial firms on regulatory and policy matters.
He holds a J.D. and MBA from The University of Alabama and a B.A. in History from Wake Forest University. He lives in Birmingham with his wife and two children.
